If you are one of Indiana's small urban or rural transportation providers, the Indiana Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP) is here to serve you. The RTAP Program provides technical assistance and training to not-for-profit public and specialized transportation providers all over the state of Indiana. We work with many different types of transportation agencies including:
- Public Transit Operators
- Agencies/Councils on Aging (AoA/CoA)
- Vocational Rehabilitation Providers
- Step Ahead Councils
- Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPO)
- Transportation Advisory Committees (TAC)
Our services are provided at no cost to those agencies that provide public and social service transportation and receive capital and/or operating assistance through INDOT's 5310 or 5311 transportation grant programs. The Indiana RTAP Program is funded by the Federal Transit Administration and the Indiana Department of Transportation.

Updates to National Public Transportation Safety Plan
FTA recently published an updated National Public Transportation Safety Plan, as well as updates to the regulation that governs Public Transportation Agency Safety Plans (PTASP). The PTASP Final Rule can be viewed here. The updated National Public Transportation Safety Plan can be viewed here.

FTA Procurement E-learning Course
FTA has a new e-learning course titled Procurement Cost and Price Analysis - Regulations and Best Practices. This course outlines procurement fundamentals and best practices. This course is helpful in mitigating procurement findings during State Management and Triennial Reviews.

NRTAP Webinar - Property Acquisition/NEPA Compliance
National RTAP will be hosting a webinar titled Early Property Acquisition and NEPA Compliance on April 25, 2024 from 2:00-3:30 PM ET. This webinar will provide an overview of FTA's policies on early or advanced acquisition of real property where federal funds are going to be used for the purchase. Registration is required.
